Nestled in the heart of Gascony, Chateau de Camille provides you with the perfect rural French retreat for your wedding celebration. Your hosts Carole and Antoine have been given the honour of managing hundreds of weddings during their time at Chateau de Camille and can prepare everything from your initial enquiry to the big day in as little as one month, although wedding bookings with more notice are also welcomed!

You cannot help but be charmed by the incredible surroundings, with beautiful rolling hills, wooded areas, and stunning stone buildings in which to house your celebrations and stay on-site, it is a picture-perfect wedding location ready to be discovered by you for your perfect day. The team, as with any local that you will have the pleasure to meet, are extremely welcoming and will do everything they can to make it a truly unforgettable experience, and an incredible moment of your lives to treasure forever.

About Us

Located in the heart of the Gers, Château de Camille is in the town of Saint Jean le Comtal. Perched on a ridge between Mirande and Auch, this village is a former stronghold of the Counts of Astarac. We are incredibly proud of our local heritage; indeed, Château de Camille owes its name to Camille de Montlaur d’Escoubès, the owner of the estate in the 17th century and the benefactor of Saint Jean le Comtal.

Château de Camille is nestled in the heart of a 25-acre woodland park. A true haven of tranquillity, it offers a perfect opportunity for walks year-round, providing shelter from the summer sun, and offers a sanctuary for you to spend your time as you please and to explore as much as you wish. It is also an ideal place to relax before or after taking a dip in our pool.

With its sumptuous setting, refined cuisine, professional team and on-site accommodation, Château de Camille is the ideal setting for special family celebrations. Our largest banquet room can comfortably cater for up to 300 guests for a buffet-style event or 120 for a sit-down celebration, making it ideal for weddings, baptisms, birthdays, indeed any other important life events. The surroundings will provide you with the perfect backdrop for exquisite photos and an event for your guests to remember.

Equally the property and the facilities on offer are the perfect option for an intimate celebration with additional room options, glorious outside spaces for an outdoors event in the summer months and a well- team on-hand to make everything go smoothly.

For wedding celebrations in particular we offer exclusive use and the ability to create the perfect private event to mark the occasion with your nearest and dearest, and can enhance the available accommodation on offer with access to neighbouring properties should your guests require additional rooms.

What’s on offer at the chateau

Every wedding celebration is slightly different, but we know through experience that there are some questions more regularly asked than others, so here is a little more information regarding what is on offer at Chateau de Camille.

Firstly, it’s worth noting that to legally get married in France you need to reside in the country for 30-days, so most couples, where both parties aren’t French residents, choose to have a civil ceremony in the country where they are residents and conduct a blessing as part of the wedding celebration in France. At Chateau de Camille this can be at various locations within the estate creating a relaxed, inclusive and stress-free day in one location once you have arrived.

Chateau de Camille is committed to providing exclusive use to wedding celebrations, weekends in the summer months are popular with French residents so tend to get booked up quite far in advance, so it’s best to get in touch to check availability for your preferred date options. With travel required to and from the venue, we’d suggest a minimum of a three-day event to allow for arrival, wedding day and departure, but this can of course be extended if required, an example itinerary can be found here (link).

Regarding numbers, up to 300 can be comfortably catered for with a buffet-style food option, such as a hog roast or sharing plates and 120 for a seated dinner, which tends to be a 3-course wedding breakfast showcasing locally sourced ingredients, but if you have any preferences these can of course be taken into consideration. Dietary requirements can also be catered for. A pre-event visit and tasting is advised, we can help you with the arrangements for this.

There is a variety of set-up options from conducting your whole event inside, to outside on the terrace to take in the views for part or all of your day, in the woods creating a back-to-nature romantic ambience to your day, or even a marquee in the grounds, so plenty is plenty of choice to suit your needs.

Although there is a lot to be said for the beauty and simplicity of a rural French wedding celebration, we are able to help with all of the extras to keep your wedding party entertained from the start of your stay to the end, from entertainers to photo booths, bouncy castles to musicians and DJs, we can help with all of the arrangements and will provide you with itemised costs for anything that falls outside of the package price (we’ll need to provide this I think to give people a start point and filter people whose budget isn’t aligned).

All other aspects form decoration to lighting, flowers to cake, a master of ceremonies to who will be your contact on the day can all be discussed as you progress through the process, we’ll take care of as much as we possibly can so that you just need to sit back and enjoy what is sure to be a very special day.

Information

From May to September, the Château de Camille restaurant welcomes you for lunch from 12 p.m. to 2.30 p.m. and for dinner from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Closed Monday noon and Tuesday noon.

In winter (October to April) we welcome you on Wednesday lunchtime , Thursday , Friday and Saturday lunchtime and evening as well as Sunday lunchtime .
